I suppose I could bring a Wireless router and plug the ethernet to that, but I doubt I could sort that out in a foreign city unless warned well in advance.
And, of course, I live in Britain and travel in America a lot, so incompatibilities of equipment is pretty much the default. I couldn't very easily bring a router from home and have it work, unless it didn't need a power supply.
