That was a really interesting article, thanks for sharing. One of the things that turned me away from Christianity were the bible readings we had every week at church. I just remember hearing some of these stories like where everyone in Sodom is killed as if every last person (including, I assume, infants) is deserving of death. Then Jesus comes along and all of a sudden we're all supposed to love each other.
I don't know enough about biblical scholarship to debate some of the comments. But I find the argument interesting that the bible is our most historical document as we have so many copies. I've often heard that as an argument for the bible's infallibility. What I don't understand is how that in any way solves all the inconsistencies and contradictions within the bible itself.
