The townsfolk are building a new palisade, and Sandor agrees to help in the labor for food, ale, lodging, and some coin. He also learns that taking the&nbsp;high road<span>&nbsp;will be impossible due to both the weather and the renewed depredations of the&nbsp;</span>mountain clans<span>. </span><span>&nbsp;</span><span>After two weeks in the town, Sandor decides they should just stay for a while until the situation in the&nbsp;</span>Riverlands<span>&nbsp;calms down, but the next day, they are turned out by the village elder, who recognizes Sandor and does not want any trouble. Sandor is paid with some copper, sour ale, and a sword that he trades for with his axe. He decides to make for&nbsp;</span>Riverrun<span>&nbsp;again to ransom Arya to Ser&nbsp;</span>Brynden<span>.&nbsp;</span>"
