Hello to all,

I'd like to know if there's a documentation (in english) about inVesalius' usage? I'm having some difficulties and would be great if there is one but I was unable to find it.

Keep up the good work! Thanks for the attention

* Gustavo, thanks for helping me with the "Portal do Software Publico Brasileiro", I wouldn't be able to get to this forum by myself

    Hi Richard!

Currently there is no English manual about how to use InVesalius. However, we should be writing some material until January for InVesalius 2.0.

We made some videos that might be helpful:
    Videos illustrating InVesalius 2 usage

There is also an article that was published on a International Rapid Prototyping book that might help you on understanding a little about InVesalius 1.

If you have any problems or doubts while using the software, please, contact us. This forum is to help all International users.

    Regards,

    Tatiana

      Hello Tatiana,

I'm having trouble opening up the video.  Is there a alternative site I could view the video at?

       Thanks,

      Alain David Carballeyra

        Hi,

i just downloaded your software. Do you happen to have an english documentation for version 1.0?

Is the release of the manual for v 2.0 still planed to happen in January?

        Thanks a lot,

          Hi All,

Sorry for not having replied sooner.

There is no English manual for InVesalius 1, and there is no English or Portuguese manual for InVesalius 2. The development team had other todos and did not manage to write the manual, not even until the date we had mentioned.

Both versions of InVesalius (1 and 2) released until now are very, very unstable. And both have serious problems on implementation.

We've managed to form a new team and we are developing InVesalius 3. In order to don't have the same problems of the previous versions (inexistence of manuals or translations), we are writing manual at the same time we develop.

Eugene, a member of this group, has proposed to help on translation to English. Is anyone interested on helping with translation / reviewing manuals, as soon as we've made a first version of InVesalius 3?

          Thanks to all!

          Best regards,

          Tatiana

I had used the existing Portugese PDF and passed it through google translate and it seems to work fairly well.  I had a question related to importing DICOM. How do I select only a small group of slices/images? When I first open the DICOM, I have the option of importing all the slices (or 1 in 2 etc) or clicking under the patient name to see individual slices. Is there any way I can select slice say slices 50-100 and just import those into Invesalius. I tried 'shift + select' , 'shift+ctrl+select' and it did not work. Tushar

                  Hi Tushar!

The version available for download does not have this feature. In the next release will be available.

                  Regards,

                      Bonjour,

I will answer in english, understand little french.

If I understand your question right.

                      Question 2:

You can change values from threshold bar (hounsfield scale) or use the editor to paint the area that interests you.

                      Question 3:

Select -447 and 2960 (or max) from threshold bar, and click "Enregistrer la surface", the airway is going into the model, export the 3D surface to STL file, you can use meshLab software (http://meshlab.sourceforge.net/) to extract airways  from STL.

                      Regards,
