I have difficulty importing a dicom series of the thorax, using 154 images at 680 x 640 resolution, 16-bit

If I import the entire DICOM folder including several series, it displays the "importing" and counts up the images, then that window closes but the usual view for importing, "Preview medical images to be imported" does not load.

If I only try to import the folder of the specific series I require, it does the same.

If I then import a different folder with less images (a reconstruction series) the preview window opens and the new series is listed, and as a seperate import the series of interest is also in the list. Clicking on it, you can sometimes import the images but they are displayed as a single column of pixels (which does appear to scroll) but not reconstruction can be performed, although you can mask. Usually, though it crashes to desktop without error box.

 In compatability mode for Vista, a runtime error is called, R6025, Pure virtual function call.

I bypassed this somewhat by deleting the first frame, which was a "blank" image, and this loaded it. However performance remains suboptimal. 

 Task manager indicates only 133,232K memory in use on a 4Gb x64 windows 7 system
